As far as I know this is still the Bricktown or Brickbottom or whatever district where the Green Line is being extended. I'm assuming they have a timeline for moving forward on developments if they are stalled now. Any hold-up was probably due to the argument over placement of the maintenance facility.

EDIT: It just occurred to me you were probably talking about something completely different. If the convention center is the same as something else I'd heard about, it may very well be one of the other sites. Some people told me it looked available and were wondering if the Revs had looked into it.

I enjoy SuperLiga but until the Mexican teams take it seriously it isn't going anywhere. Until SUM starts marketing it to English-speaking audiences it isn't going anywhere. Until CONCACAF and SUM come to an agreement and turn it into the regional version of the Europa League it isn't going anywhere. I wouldn't even say bragging rights are on the line, considering this thing has zero profile in Mexico.

My sentiments exactly. If we let them spouting mindless diverting statements then they will, and we get nowhere. I'd like to hear them comment on the report that they haven't said a word to Somerville officials in a year. Just to see what they say.

Next time someone from the Kraft empire is doing an interview, someone needs to call/text/tweet a pointed question regarding the stadium. While the "What about the stadium?" questions are helpful, they don't get to the heart of what we are all wondering: "Why would you cut off communications? Is that statement accurate?"

Paul might struggle to coach at a higher level in England as he has virtually no experience of English soccer in recent years. Plymouth Argyle is a club with strong connections for Paul - his family still live in the area and support the team - and it will be something of a homecoming for him. It cannot be said enough how much of a legend Paul is in Plymouth, and this will be a massive move for him. About the club, Plymouth Argyle play in the second Tier of UK soccer, 'The Championship'. They have new owners, a consortium of UK & Japanese businessmen with a plan to make Plymouth a host city for the 2018 Soccer World Cup and build a massive new arena. 20 minutes walk through town fans can visit the old town where the Pilgrim fathers sailed from on the Mayflower.

If Paul Mariner had wanted to move to the UK to coach at a higher level than Plymouth Argyle, he surely could have. Paul is that unique individual who enjoys his work and understands what it means to be patient and build relationships and teams. He will be sorely missed by Steve Nicol and the Revs but I expect that Paul will be enormously successful in his new challenge. If he chooses to coach at a higher level, I expect those opportunities will present themselves. He is a class act and has paid his dues.

This is an excellent article on the status of youth development for MLS. It didn't even exist that many years ago. It's an obvious way to increase talent and opportunities for American players. It will also help MLS hold down costs as its generally cheaper to develop talent than to purchase talent developed by some other team.

As a Rapids supporter, I receive their press releases on their academy. They just held a Town Hall to discuss all of the various youth teams. They have comprehensive structure that ranges from U6-U16:

What drew me back to this article is the recent announcement that MLS has eliminated the reserve league and reduced the number of roster spots from 28 to 24. So each MLS team will release reserve team players. Most will go to the USL first or second division since most are too old to be included in the mandatory U16 and U18 teams.

This announcement about the reserve league supports the idea that the youth academies are the long-term plan for player development.

Does anyone think that the absence of the reserve league will hinder player development in the short-term?

This is a huge blow. Remember the Revs won the SuperLiga without Twellman... Don't know where the offense is going to come from now - but the upside is, neither do the Fire. This will be truly telling of Nicol's prowess as a manager.
